Mark & Hugh Celebrate A Decade Here At DNS
Here at DNS, we take pride in the fact that our employees love working here! So much so, some of them have nearly hit the 20-year mark!
We don’t like work anniversary’s to simply slip through the net and so this year we are happy to be celebrating the fact that Support Services & Solutions Manager Mark and Sales Manager Hugh have both reached 10 years of working at DNS.
Mark joined the DNS team in June 2011 initially as a Network Analyst and now plays a pivotal role in managing a growing team of 8. Mark isn’t a fan of working in the same place so you will either find him here in the DNS office, out and about on the road visiting customers/installing machines or even working from his home office!
“It’s safe to say the past decade has flown by… I originally started at DNS as a Network Analyst doing MPS assessments and I now manage the support team, which has been great to see grow significantly in the last 10 years. The DNS Team are great and make the 120-mile round trip to the office worth it (I think I have travelled over 280,000 miles since I started at DNS) however, I do like my working from home days alongside my office companion Chesney the Chocolate Lab. It will be interesting to see what the years to come have in store for me here at DNS, I imagine we will become a lot busier on IT and Communications.”
Fun fact: Mark’s first ever job was an apprenticeship at the BBC as a maintenance technician working on VT and Telecine equipment.
Hugh joined DNS in November 2011 and even left his family print business he ran with his father – if that isn’t commitment, we don’t know what is! Having worked within the print industry for several years Hugh brought a special skill set within the world of production print helping our portfolio of printers, graphic designers and businesses using in house print.
Hugh began his time here at DNS as an account manager and then over the years has progressed to being the sales manager which involves overseeing telesales, sales, and marketing departments.
Fun fact: Hugh’s first job was an assistant baker at Morrison’s.
“A decade at DNS…Wow! My job role & responsibilities have changed a vast amount in this time. From spinning the ‘Production Print Specialist’ plate, I moved quickly into many more areas of the business where I could add additional value and expertise. I feel I’m now spinning an entire kitchen worth of plates – and I love it! The team here at DNS are fantastic, we’re a little family and I’m proud to be a part of it. Over the next 10 years our business model, the industry and customer behaviours will change at a rapid rate; we’re at the forefront of technology and will continue to invest and improve, and this is why I love my job!”
To celebrate their decade at DNS, both Mark & Hugh will each get an all-expenses paid weekend away for them and their chosen plus one. Previously, a popular pick has been spending the weekend in London, watching a show, and having dinner at The Savoy. However, ultimately the choice is theirs and they can spend their weekend whatever way they wish (nonetheless, a private jet to Vegas probably isn’t going to be in the mix… sorry Hugh!)
Keep an eye out on our social channels to see how they celebrate.
